About

Ali Herdman is an Organisation Development Consultant and Executive Coach specialising in organisation, leadership & team development and managing change in complex adaptive systems.

Ali’s work is grounded in positive psychology and appreciative methodologies; she brings a passion and energy to working with diverse and complex groups and organisations and helping them to co-create a more healthy and productive ‘system’.

Qualifications

Ali has an MBA from LUMS and graduated from the Advanced OD/HRM programme at Columbia University, New York in 2005. She is a member of the CIPD and is an accredited user of MBTI, TMS and FIRO-B profiling tools.

Experience

Ali’s first career in financial services included senior HR and Organisation Development positions in the UK and Internationally. Ali’s last corporate role was head of Organisation Development for a FTSE 100 global insurance group.

Since 2004 Ali has specialised in organisational behaviour and development, transformation and supporting leaders both individually and in teams through many successful assignments in private and public sector organisations around the world. She excels in working with individuals and diverse groups of people to develop participative ways to take a ‘whole system’ view; engaging and mobilising people to co-create change at an individual, team and organisational level.

Ali’s experience in coaching and working with groups has included a highly successful NHS OD programme and many programmes in the FE sector. Ali designed and delivered the Kirklees College ‘Aspire’ programme which won the 2015 AoC Beacon Award for staff development. She has also worked with a number of Boards and senior management teams on leadership, team and strategy development. She has facilitated several large group interventions and has provided service transformation consultancy to a number of public and private sector organisations.

Her private sector work includes developing the global leadership ‘pathway’ for one of the world’s largest manufacturing groups and providing system-level change consultancy for a large global retailer.

Ali is also a trustee of a charity working to provide mental health and other support services to children and young people in Liverpool and is passionate about the potential of people to participate in, and shape, the systems within which they live and work.
